Hello! I am Annette, the author from count on kupe.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I have been teaching for more than a decade! I earned a B.A. and M.A. in teaching with concentrations in math, science, and psychology. I started my teaching career in high school teaching math and science. While I enjoyed the challenge, high school only lasted a few years. I found my home in 5th grade and have been teaching in elementary school for more than 10 years! I am passionate about teaching math and science and that is reflected in my lessons and the resources I create. My goal is to teach students to be life-long learners and to be engaged and enjoy school.
Whether virtual or in person, I want to create a classroom environment where students are excited to come to class. I design my resources with that goal in mind! Escapes, scavenger hunts, projects, and project morning are just a few of my favorite ways to engage the students all year round!
Just for fun… here are a few of my favorite things:
- A hot cup of coffee (or 2)
- Walking outside and listening to my favorite podcasts
- Sitting on the beach with a good book
- Target runs
- Designing and creating my teaching resources!
Do we have anything in common?
