This apple craftivity gives students a creative way to practice fraction concepts while building a colorful fall display for your classroom. Three apple pages each cover a different fraction topic, so you can use one page for a quick review or combine them for a full bulletin board. A bonus “Our Math Orchard” bulletin board title is included on pages 10-11.

Standards covered:
– 4.NF.A.1: Explain why a fraction a/b is equivalent to a fraction (n x a)/(n x b) by using visual fraction models
– 4.NF.A.2: Compare two fractions with different numerators and different denominators

What is included:
– Apple 1: Equivalent fractions (find the missing number and color by the value of the missing number)
– Apple 2: Compare fractions (write the correct comparison symbol and color by greater than, less than, or equal to)
– Apple 3: Fraction models (write the fraction shown by each model, then write an equivalent fraction)
– Answer keys for all three apples

Directions:
– Students complete the fraction problems in each section of their apple
– They color each section based on the color code shown at the top of that page
– Students cut out the apples when finished
